The Earth as a Canvas

These are composite images made of high resolution satellite photos stitched together to achieve a sense of grandeur and capture even the most tiny details. Each work can be appreciated either as a whole object with pictural qualities or as a collection of detailed fragments.

The geoformed human patterns, in the infinitely large and small, reflect how our collective mind unconsciously built geometrical shapes, as a reflection of who we are. The resulting patterns, circles, squares, rectangles and straight lines reflect the ordered yet chaotic world of objects and geometrical concepts that inhabit us. As an echo to this, the project also delves into the topography of land appropriation and mass production in a post-colonial world.
